Shelter snapshot
as of Monday, June 8Where every dog at Gwinnett County Animal Welfare is right now, grouped by the shelter's own status codes from yesterday's daily roster. The public adoption listing (the dogs you can browse and meet) is a subset.
Where they are
Why does the in-custody count differ from the public listing?
Different sources, different timing. The in-custody number comes from the county's daily incare PDF, which lists every dog physically at the shelter on the day it was published โ usually yesterday. The public listing count comes from a live scrape of the shelter's adoption website, refreshed every 30 minutes.
What's on the PDF but not the public listing: dogs in vet care, behavioral assessment, awaiting transfer to a rescue, in foster, on a stray hold, in bite quarantine, or with an adoption pending spay/neuter. The shelter pulls them from the public list while these situations resolve.
What's on the public listing but not the PDF: dogs intaked since yesterday's PDF was published, plus any short-window listing/delisting that happened today.
