Welcome to Dog Rescuer (gwinnettshelterpets.com). By using this site you agree to the terms below. If anything here doesn't sit right with you, please don't use the site — and feel free to reach out if you think we should change something.

What this site is (and isn't)

Dog Rescuer is a volunteer-run, non-commercial informational service operated by Fab Bazaar LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. We aggregate publicly available data about adoptable dogs at Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and a few neighbouring shelters, and we let volunteers add context (photos, visit notes, social links). The LLC handles the legal and operational paperwork; everyone working on this project does so as a volunteer.

We are not the shelter. We do not represent Gwinnett County or any government agency. We do not control intake, adoption, transport, euthanasia, or any other shelter decision. Buttons on this site that say things like "I'd foster" or "I can transport" send a note to our volunteer team — they do not reserve a dog or notify the shelter. To actually foster, adopt, or rescue a dog, contact the shelter directly using the contact info on each dog's profile.

Accuracy

We do our best to surface accurate, fresh data. Listings refresh every 30 minutes from the shelter's public site, and outcome PDFs are ingested once a day. That said:

• Information about specific dogs may be wrong, out of date, or incomplete. Always confirm with the shelter before acting.
• A dog listed here as "available" may already be on hold, in medical care, or have been adopted in the time since the last sync.
• Health flags, behaviour notes, and crowd-sourced photos / links are contributed by volunteers and represent their opinions, not the shelter's.

Information here is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no promise about availability, accuracy, fitness for purpose, or non-infringement.

Your account

You sign in with Google. By doing so, you confirm that:

• You're 13 years of age or older.
• The information you provide (display name, location, foster capabilities, etc.) is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Don't share your Google account, and let us know if you suspect unauthorised access.

Acceptable use

Don't do any of the following:

• Impersonate the shelter or any government agency. You can talk about a specific dog, but make clear you're a volunteer.
• Harass, threaten, or defame shelter staff, other volunteers, or adopters. If a dog has been euthanised, we share your sorrow — but please channel that into helping the next dog, not attacking the people doing the work.
• Upload content you don't have the right to share. Photos must be your own or you must have permission from the photographer. Don't post copyrighted material.
• Submit obviously false information about a dog's condition, behaviour, or status.
• Scrape, automate, or programmatically abuse the site. We're a small volunteer project — please don't break it.
• Try to break security. Don't probe for vulnerabilities, attempt to bypass authentication, scrape secrets, or interfere with other users. If you find a real security issue, please email us privately so we can fix it.
• Use the foster/adopt interest signals as a sales channel. This isn't a marketplace. No commercial breeding solicitations, no "rescues" that resell, no monetisation of the dogs.

We can suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules. Repeat abuse or anything illegal will result in a permanent ban.

Content you contribute

You keep ownership of photos, captions, notes, and link submissions you upload. By contributing, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, store, and redistribute that content on the site and in associated social media for the purpose of helping the dog get fostered or adopted.

You can revoke that licence by deleting the content (see Data deletion) or your account. Once you delete the content from the site, we stop displaying it.

Privacy

Use of this site is governed by our privacy policy. The short version: we don't run analytics or ads, we use only essential cookies for sign-in and security, and you can delete your data at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, the Dog Rescuer operator(s) and volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to harm related to adopting, fostering, transporting, or otherwise interacting with a dog you found via this site.

Animal welfare involves risk. Dogs can have undisclosed medical or behavioural issues. We pass along the information we have, but we cannot guarantee the temperament, health, or compatibility of any dog. Adopt and foster carefully, in consultation with the shelter and a veterinarian.

Third parties

The site uses Cloudflare, Google (sign-in), Meta (Facebook engagement), and Hostwinds (hosting). Their respective terms apply to your use of those products. We're not responsible for outages, data handling, or behaviour of those third parties.

Changes

If we materially change these terms we'll update the date at the top and (for signed-in users) drop a note on the home page. Continued use after a change means you agree to the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Georgia.
